What customers say?

“ Great cafe with lovely food and drinks! The coziness of the interior makes it a great spot to relax, study/work, and hang out! Plus, the pastries all look amazing, especially the pies, but I’d also recommend the breakfast sandwich, which was one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile! The egg is super fluffy and the cheese they use went so perfectly, every bite was addicting. Definitely will be coming back to try some of their pastries, and a crowd favorite especially for students, love it! ”

“ A really nice place for a cup of coffee and some pastries. I recommend the vinegar pie, it’s delicious! Mood is friendly and quirky! ”

- Mario Cau -

“ Cozy new coffee shop in North Oakland! Ample seating and plenty of food and coffee/tea options to choose from. A lot (if not all) of the baked goods and breakfast sandwiches are made in-house, and the coffee is from La Prima. Barista was very friendly and engaging as well! I was very happy to see they had homemade yellow cake with chocolate frosting—that’s hard to come by! That with a black coffee were perfect for a winter day like today. Hoping to try the cinnamon rolls next! ”

“ Great place to order coffee and work or come with friends on a cold day. They also have drinks for takeout. The coffee and the mocha are pretty good and they have a selection of pastries to go with them. The choices of coffee are, however, a bit limited if you wanted to try something new or different, but the classical options are always there. Since a lot of people come in to work/study, sometimes there is not enough available seating inside. There are some tables on the sidewalk outside but when it's cold that is not the best option. ”

“ A great place to sit and have a cup or grab on-the-go. Compared with Rad Hawk, Starbucks, and Divvy, this is where I go. It's just far enough out of the paths of most university students that the atmosphere is kept alive. ”

- Mark Freithaler -

“ Great little local coffee shop with a playful interior. Oat milk Cappuccino was very good. Pre made bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich was also very tasty. Worked wonderfully for a really quick breakfast and coffee on the way to work. I would have loved to have been able to stay for a minute and enjoy the space too. ”

“ Excellent regular drip coffee. I had the toffee scone. I’m particular about my scones, and this was the best I’ve ever had. Great little coffee shop. ”

“ Great toasted breakfast sandwich with piping hot coffee. I wish mustard was available, but maybe i could have simply asked for it. The pickle on my gruyere with ham is clutch. By the way, the coffee is rockin' some very sturdy but mild, naturally sweet flavors, a robust cup of mojo being served here! Very pleasant and friendly staff - super chill low stress. They greet each customer with a welcoming smile and eye contact, like old friends just walked into their kitchen through the back door. The whole space smells like fresh bread - probably because folks are churning out loaves and leaves of fresh baked breads just a few feet from my seat at the window. Some people are camped out with laptops. Some grab and go. Some are chatting over food with friends. I have no inclination to try vinegar pie for breakfast, but more than half of the pie was gone, so maybe I am missing out on something truly wonderful. Lots of other appealing choices here, I will have to come back. ”
